Clinical Supervision & Career Mentorship

Clinical Supervision

I offer a limited number of clinical supervision contracts in the state of Oregon. I give you the real skinny on things like:

  • honing clinical interventions

  • nailing notes and diagnoses (if applicable)

  • countertransference - opportunities for self reflection and deepening your therapeutic style & skills

  • your journey toward licensure

  • Law & Ethics issues

  • what private practice is like

  • what other opportunities are out there besides talking in a room to a client

  • online therapy

  • applying for reciprocal licenses in other states

  • CE opportunities

It’s important to me to provide a safe atmosphere for you to ask questions and view therapeutic “mistakes” as invaluable learning experiences. Part of my supervision style involves teaching (didactic model), but a lot of the process is often experiential. I utilize supervision-based models and methods that combine psychodynamic (patient-centered classical) and developmental models.

Career Mentorship

Career mentorship might be for you if you are new in your career or even still in your academic program. There are many avenues to take in the mental health field; various types of clinical work - not just traditional one-on-one therapy. You could wind up not even doing therapy at all! There’s so much you can do with a therapy or psychology-based degree.

Career Mentorship is conducted virtually so its your opportunity to grab a beverage and get the skinny on the journey toward a career that fulfills you. This is not a supervision session that focuses on clinical applications. This is mentorship, where you can get the skinny on what its really like:

  • what the testing process is like

  • what private practice is like and how to get started

  • what other opportunities are out there besides talking in a room to a client

  • online therapy

  • applying for reciprocal licenses in other states

  • coaching v therapy

  • navigating coaching and also providing therapy

Occasionally, I offer mentorship groups. Connect with others who share your journey. Remember your cohort from grad school? This is just like that. The whole group is in the trenches and bonding just happens! Here are some other benefits:

  • networking opportunities

  • study buddies

  • training opportunities (for CEs)

  • exposure to stories from people using other modalities

  • ideas for interventions

  • Avoiding burn out
